Faithfully following

“There’s no doubt about it; God holds our lives safely in his hands. He’s the one who keeps us faithfully following him.” Ps 66:9 TPT

This has been a week of mixed emotions as I process my mother’s passing and think on all those times, she was so loving and caring in so many ways throughout my life.

I am reminded of many situations that would not have been made possible without her love, support, help and touch to the circumstances and I am humbled by the weight of her enormous effort that would have gone into every detail at those individual times!

  • 3rd grade teacher farewell where she came to school to deliver a superbly decorated cake

  • Countless new outfits sewn for many events over my growing up

  • Cooking, sewing and much more for my wedding

  • Commitment to supporting myself and rest of family members in prayer for life situations

  • Knitting, sewing, child minding and much more for my children and grandchildren

  • The list goes on…

From the scripture verse above, in the same way our Heavenly Father is attentive to every one of us as and loves on us in the same way, but do we acknowledge it or believe it?

In Jeremiah 1:5 it say ‘before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you…’ So I believe my Heavenly Father knew me intimately before he placed me in my mother’s care. Knowing all that my mum had to go through and deal with for her pregnancy with me, I am again in awe of her commitment and strength to not give up on bringing me into the world.

My mum knew a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and she shared the importance of that same need onto me. Because I now get to experience an everyday understanding of a Heavenly Father who loves me too I know in my heart that the plans he is outworking for me now were ultimately woven way back when my Mum was carrying me 12

How amazing is our God who goes to the trouble of intricately designing a tapestry of purpose for us and does not leave any little detail out…. Love Him so much and I know my Mum now has the privilege of basking in His love and embrace!
