Bloom Where You're Planted

Many moons ago (about 27yrs) I was blessed to be in a work role that I knew the lord had orchestrated for me and he set this phrase alight in my heart at the time…
‘Bloom where you are planted’
Here to the right is the ‘Mary Engelbright’ picture I sat on my desk at the time to remind me of God’s goodness.
Once again, in this season, the Lord is highlighting this same phrase within me, and I was captured by the fact that when we choose to step up and say ‘YES’ for what God puts in our hearts – then I imagined the Lord giving us a big grin of approval! Would our Heavenly Father be pink? Don’t know but it certainly suited the aesthetics of my picture!

Earlier this year, in April & May I was able to participate in viewing, smelling and beholding a huge array of floral delights at the most exquisite gardens in the northern hemisphere. These gardens were so amazing, stunning and drop dead gorgeous that I tried to bring back a small memory of them for myself.
Due to the fact that I am not a good gardener, I was in awe of the work gone into making these displays so stunning. The hard work by the groundsmen and the daily care and attention they would have spent in making them something so visually beautiful.

When it comes to us ‘Blooming’ (glowing with youthful vigour and freshness - flourishing; prospering – reaching one’s full potential) for the Lord where he has us now, in the season we are in… it is a process of staying connected to Him by reading the word and time spent in relationship with Him.
Our heavenly father desires to tend and care for us, I’m sure much more than an average gardener does. He is always looking for ways to build us up with more ‘fertilizer’ (ways to spur on and encourage our growth). If we don’t like the smell of the fertilizer, then we need to remind ourselves that the fragrance that the Lord is trying to cultivate from within us will be the fitting worship he is looking for from us.
My scripture verse for today is…
‘Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones’ – Proverbs 16:24
Very fitting I believe as there is a very common fertilizer used on plants in the garden called ‘Blood & Bone’.
Our Heavenly Father has given us both – His blood and His bone to secure us into His Kingdom…
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Saviour] shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16 AMP
…So, by allowing Him to work and tend us to be the best we can be, it would surely enable us to ‘Bloom’ brightly for Him and give Him glory!
I was online and saw a link to Priscilla Shirer sharing on the reason we should be reading the word and connecting with our Heavenly Father, to know Him intimately and be assured of His voice in our ears every day so we are not miss led into believing a counterfeit voice.
I am wanting to ‘BLOOM’ well for my Heavenly Father and to bring Him a ‘FRAGRANCE’ (see link on my publication page for latest book with same name) that will please Him as I step into my next ‘Garden Bed’ (Home). To allow Him the tending and pruning of all that I need to be what He desires of me in this season.
Prayer:
Lord, I come to You today just as I am. I ask that You would fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit and let Your living water overflow from my heart. Forgive me for any places where I have felt barren, stuck, or dried up, and help me to surrender those areas to Your pruning process.
Heal me of any emotional pain, past hurts, or anxieties that are keeping me from moving forward. Transform the dry seasons of my life into a time of deep root-building and growth. Teach me to trust You for every step and to find contentment and joy in Your presence.
Help me to bear the fruit of Your Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let Your light shine so brightly in me that others are drawn to Your love. Enable me to bloom well and flourish in every purpose You have for my life.
In Jesus' name, I pray.
