You Revive My Drooping Head

Feeling oh so much lighter, less encumbered (mentally) and totally into what my theme is for this month…. Overflow

Although our church has been all about ‘Overflow’ this whole year, for me personally I have felt I was on another playing field altogether.  Going through all that has transpired for our journey this year has hit very different.

Toward the end of last year in 2025, God impressed on my heart the need to gather a group of ladies to go on a journey of ‘Leaving a Legacy’ and we had a great couple of months earlier this year 2026 doing the six weekly program that really opened our eyes to so much… please see two earlier blogs I posted on the results.

But then during that process I was, I would say, ‘high jacked’ by a process that God brought about from ‘out of nowhere’ and then my trajectory radically changed.

I am now feeling a little more focused I think and what brought about that realisation was meeting a lady today from my strata building.  Hearing her story of surgery on her hand the day before, losing her husband in January and the fact I remembered her name and what unit she lives in – amazing!

Up until now, all I have met and interacted with have been a blur to me and I don’t remember much at all – but I remember the lady I met today and her name!  (Will now be adding her to my prayer list!)

For me this is a big step forward and I am totally feeling the sense of how blessed I am and that God has me covered.

I saw the attached post on my phone and really relate to the scripture and the comment… ‘not because life is perfect but because God is faithful’ – so true!

I feel that my brain and processing pathways have had a done over by a duster or maybe a revamp or spring clean – whatever the analogy, they seemed cleared out and a lot better than they were.

I heard recently from a pod cast   ‘I was a pastor & secretly wanted to die’   that if you continue to only process the past and the future and not take time for the present then that is not healthy. (Couple being interviewed are my nephew & his wife)

My heart’s desire in my current situation is to facilitate ‘feeling at home’ in my circumstances and be the best version of myself for Jesus to use where I am at.  Am I totally there yet?  Not so sure but we recently had friends over and they asked that question of my husband, and he said he thinks he is, but he still wasn’t sure I am…. (being truthful).

Our life journey is a season of stepping stones I believe and there are some dry stones we feel confident to jump onto and yet there are others that are wet and we slip a little.  But each time we continue to ask the Lord Jesus to lift us up, support us through and we eventually make it to the other side of the bank on ‘terra-firma’ and keep traversing forward with His guidance.

I have discovered another little world here where I live that a number are very focused on what others (manly youths with nothing better to do) get up to… thieving and pinching what does not belong to them.  So, I do believe that I have a mission field now to pray for;

·       Wayward youth

·       Community minded & physical ‘neighbourhood watch’

·       Elderly that need support & comfort

·       And maybe more

Philippians 2:3-4 AMP Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Romans 15:2 AMP Let each one of us [make it a practice to] please his neighbour for his good, to build him up spiritually.

Galatians 6:2 MSG Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. [that is, the law of Christian love - AMP]

So now that I am feeling the sweep of Spring both internally, mentally and have a ‘spring’ in my step I wish to overflow the love God grants me for others and be His hands and feet where I am and believe for great things moving forward.
