Doors of Declaration

I have been through many a door in my lifetime… some of which have brought great things into my life but then there have been others that I have had to traverse practically time and again for everyday necessity! For example, carrying my groceries in and out of my garage/kitchen door each week!

Many years ago, a scripture that set one particular door open to me was Hosea 2:14-15 - ‘…a door of hope and expectation…’ From that came my first book published in 2020 called ‘Door of Hope’ which I encourage you to read if you have an opportunity.

Doors are very fascinating items as they can be representations of something grand, someone’s creativity, strength, age, simplicity, or not at all. I love looking at many interesting doors, check out - https://www.pinterest.com.au/kims1186/doors-of-declaration/

In stepping up to face the edifice of any door and grasping the handle of it in your palm, the experience of excitement and possibilities for what lies on the other side is rather exhilarating but who on the other hand has stepped through a doorway and been confronted with something altogether different?

Something that my grandkids love to do when visiting is all (3 at once) come continuously knocking on our front door in eager anticipation of their Grandad knocking back at them from inside and having a game of it. Of course, when he is not home and it's just me that opens the door, they ask ‘where’s Grandad?’ as I am not into keeping that knocking process happening!

In the bible it says…

So Jesus said again, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am [a]the Door for the sheep [leading to life]. – John 10:7 AMP

Christ is the Door. And what greater security has the church of God than that the Lord Jesus is between it and all its enemies? He is a door open for passage and communication. Here are plain directions on how to come into the fold; we must come in by Jesus Christ as the Door. – Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary on John 10:7

To me, if the word of God says he is my door and I have invited him in to play a major part in my every day then I need to pay more attention then to when ‘a door’ gets opened to me and how my heavenly Father asks me to move forward on that!

I remember in 1999 when already working in a job that I was very happy with, I was asked by a friend to come job share with them! When considering this and chatting to my husband there were a lot of reasons that pointed to me saying no but inside of me, I kept hearing the Lord say – Do It! My husband was not convinced it was a good idea but helped support me while I added this extra commitment to my activities (as I did not quit my other work role) thru the process (which only lasted 6 months) that workplace paid for me to do 2 very expensive computer training programs which was what I required to have, to then work at the next job God had for me 😊

Again, in 2011 a similar situation arose when God opened up a role, (after a small break from work) I was asked to come on board to work casually to start with and then increased to a permanent position but the struggle I had with this was their technology department were changing over all their operating systems and programs from one suite to a completely new format and with that came a number of new types of technology that my head space struggled with as it was huge! I was asking God almost every day, ‘why this?’ I don’t understand what you’re doing to me! Only four years later when God had another work role offered to me, they asked if I could use half a dozen new programs and I was able to say – ‘of course, I have been using all those for the last four years’!

GOD is SOOOO GOOD to us and we should never underestimate he is working for us and not against us. Even when we don’t realise we may NEED it!

If I had not made the choices I did back, then – would I have seen the same amazing attention to detail that God worked thru my life? Regardless, I am in awe of His unfailing love of me. I saw a video of John Bevere yesterday that simply describes how much God is for me – You are Loved & valued by God

Praying that you too will understand that God wants the best for your life if you will allow him!
