What Does God See?

We are fortunate in some ways with today’s technology to view things in the world that have been secret to us for hundreds and thousands of years. I have read many stories on social media claiming that Google maps, Google earth, etc have found different ones stranded on desert islands, and regardless of whether those stories are true or not we have come a long way in what technology is capable of!

From the pictures above, we are able to see the beauty and wonder of our world from a height that awes us and gives us a new and different perspective. I wonder what God perceives from his vantage point?

This then has got me thinking…

‘But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered [for the Father is sovereign and has complete knowledge].’ – Matthew 10:30 AMP

If God knows us so intimately that he is aware of how many hairs are on our head (before or after brushing each morning I wonder?), then how does he view us personally in our everyday circumstances? Does he standoff into the vastness of space and view us alongside everyone else or does He come in right up close like kids using a microscope checking out ants carrying crumbs?

‘…God sits high above the round ball of earth. The people look like mere ants. He stretches out the skies like a canvas— yes, like a tent canvas to live under…’ – Isaiah 40:21 MSG

I know for a fact that when I pray and speak to my Heavenly Father about all my daily affairs and situations etc, he is right there with me to comfort and guide me in my decision making.

‘…for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go’ – Joshua 1:9 ESV

‘The Lord your God is in your midst,…’ – Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

‘…behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’ – Matthew 28:20

‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ – Hebrews 13:5 ESV

Some may be thinking now, well if I don’t like the idea of social media and technology knowing everything about me then why would I want to know someone else is up there checking me out?

Perfectly understandable… but I find that this is what brings me comfort, Him knowing me intimately and being part of helping me in a greater outcome!

Today, our nation is voting for a change in Government, and I read a daily devotion every morning written to explain scriptures from the Word of God but what blew me away today is that this devotion is written by someone on the other side of the world from me and today’s reading was titled ‘GOOD GOVERNMENT! Now you may feel that this is a coincidence, but I would prefer to believe that my God is looking down and understanding I have an important choice to make today so has sent me this encouragement!

Governments have their ups and downs. Our politicians are human beings with human weaknesses like our own.

There is a certain ambivalence about all human government in the Bible. There are parts where human government is affirmed as God-given (for instance, in Romans 13), and others where it is pictured as being under demonic control (for instance, in Revelation 13). Together they represent the reality of human government. Governments reflect the mix that is in us all of what is good and true alongside what is sinful and flawed.

However, be assured that one day there will be a new type of government – the kingship of Jesus (John 12:12–36).

Prayer - Lord, give wisdom to our leaders that they may lay aside their own personal agendas and work together to maintain justice, peace, and unity in the nation for the glory of your name.’

Today, I believe that God looks down on us (as a Nation) and me personally, desiring for us to be making good choices. As I love my heavenly father, I wish to be making the choices that He wants for me in this season to see His plans and purposes be made a reality for my life and the future of my family and grandchildren!
