My Voice V God Speaking

My voice versus God speaking to & through me!

This month has been a month of emotional extremes for me on many levels and trying to navigate that has been a very ‘tenacious’ balancing act!
The other morning while viewing the above link I was very impacted by it and felt huge remorse and very convicted over words I had spoken to my other half only 10-12 hours earlier.
Once taking the time to talk to my heavenly father, asking forgiveness and then texting my other half (who was at work) my heartfelt apology I decided to start my day afresh by making myself some breakfast and sit and enjoy our churches online Sunday service – only to find I was being ‘prodded with a 10 foot pole’ figuratively speaking once again on the same theme! No coincidence!

Who remembers the ‘Muppet Show’? With Kermit, Miss Piggy etc! Yes well, I journal every day and for this month I have been basing it all on them! Rating my emotional ups and downs using characters like ‘Mr fish thrower’ and ‘Scooter’ the assistant and many, many more! My emotions page has quite a cast of friendly faces showing on there this month! Including the ‘Swedish Chef’!

So why do you ask did I set about to create such a bizarre analogy for my life this month.
Well, the Lord was highlighting to me that we are all on a stage ‘of life’ and others are watching us so …
‘Be careful how you act…make the most of every opportunity… for doing good… find out and do whatever the lord wants you to! – Eph 5:15-17 TLB
I believe that in my first ‘test’ this month I failed that miserably and I am not proud of it but am now realising that my on-stage performance for being ‘Jesus’ in the room was a flop!
In Matthew 5:15-16 it encourages us to not hide our light but to let it shine for all to see. I feel that the light I have been giving off has been somewhat tainted and not giving of the directional beam that is needed to help others see Jesus Christ in me and in this season of countless blurred lines and grey areas I have not shown up well ☹
As mentioned at the beginning of this ‘synopsis’ I was talking about ‘My voice’ and what I say or how I say it! Well, because I am a grandmother and in that season of my life, deep down I want to be doing and saying only the best so that I may leave a better legacy to those who follow. I saw the following quote from Evangelist ‘Billy Graham’

We are all aware of the huge impact that Billy Graham has had on the world, in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ – I think I was 6yrs old when he visited Sydney Australia in 1968.
…he (Billy Graham) visited Sydney three times (1959, 1968, 1979). On each occasion the gospel he preached affected thousands – changing individuals, families and communities. His was a global mission that affected local communities. It was a high-profile ministry that transformed the lives of little people… - Quote by Phillip Jensen – former Dean of St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney
Phillip Jensen made his public profession of faith in 1959 at the Billy Graham Crusade and started a ministry of the gospel to his friends at school
I believe that our individual voice and story is a powerful utensil for the Lord if used in accordance with His guidance and blessing and for His purpose.

Back in 2018 I started writing out a list of what God has done for me over the years… below is that same list that I have continued to add to – my past 50 yrs of God pouring out His continued grace upon my life and circumstances.
The power of our personal testimony ‘voice’ cannot be disputed. Another individual cannot say that what we share is not real or did not happen as it is ‘our’ personal version of our life. What is true for us is not the same for others. It’s how we say and share it that truly matters to God!

Which is why I have it on my heart to help other women who may be at the same stage of life as me and are desiring to do the same. To do this season where everything in the world is uncertain and continue being strong at what God has called us to be, even if it seems small and mundane – BUT doing it well until His return!
I recently heard our Senior Pastor’s 18 yr. old son share … ‘if we (you & me) don’t slay our goliaths today then we are leaving them for the next generation to do’.
I don’t know about you but that does not sit well with me. Leaving unresolved issues and heartbreak for our children and grandchildren to clean up does not seem a good plan! I have had the book ‘Leaving a Legacy’ recommended to me, and it follows the writings of Billy Graham who wrote the book ‘The Journey’.

So, in 2026 I would like to invite all those who care to make time once a week for 6 consecutive weeks to delve into this and I believe we will come out stronger for it? Who is interested to join me on this adventure?
