Our Words

Over the recent holiday period, I have had the opportunity to interact and spend time with my siblings – which does not happen that often due to them living interstate and I have encountered a whole lot more on how we are uniquely similar and most definitely brothers and sisters!

Our conversation says a lot about who we are, how we have been brought up, and what is intrinsically ingrained into us, even when we don’t realize it!

Hence my reason for sharing one of my mum’s poems today - my mum passed away in July 2020 & we found many of her poems that we made into a book. I heard at a recent family lunch, many things shared, just like ‘my mum talking’ and in a way, it was a bit funny/sad!

We should never underestimate the value of what we try to communicate to others around us, either lovingly or to get a point across because like my mum said…‘Our words are a treasure…’

In Proverbs 21:23 (AMP) it says;

‘He who guards his mouth and his tongue Guards himself from troubles.’

I need to constantly remind myself, before speaking, why I need to say what’s on my mind? The more I can stop and check with my Heavenly Father first before saying it, then I can be sure it has His stamp of approval.

Praying that you too will be blessed today in your conversations with others.
